Kelzine Thompson

A Commitment to Community, A Promise of Change

Free Democratic Movement Candidate for Constituency 21

Kelzine Thompson is a dedicated community advocate, cultural preservationist, and leader who has spent her life serving others. Born and raised in Constituency 21, Kelzine comes from a large, loving family and understands the importance of community, unity, and leadership that truly listens.

A wife, mother of five, grandmother of eleven, and foster mother of two, she embodies the values of service, care, and perseverance. With over 30 years of experience as a debt collector, she has helped countless individuals navigate financial difficulties, and as a caregiver for seniors, she has provided support to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Her passion for mentorship and social advocacy has led her to:
  • Serve on multiple charity boards, advocating for community support initiatives.
  • Lead support groups for victims of sexual violence, providing survivors with a safe space for healing.
  • Mentor teenage girls, ensuring that young women in Bermuda have the guidance and resources they need to succeed.

Kelzine is also known as one of Bermuda’s best Gombey suit makers, preserving the rich cultural traditions of our island. Alongside her son, Showande, she teaches classes on the art of Gombey suit making, while also supporting his mission to educate Bermudians on the history of the Gombeys—ensuring that this treasured tradition is never lost.

A Childhood Rooted in C21’s Strength & Values

Growing up in Constituency 21 was one of the greatest experiences of Kelzine’s life. The community was built on love, hope, respect, unity, and faith—where people truly stood by one another.

  • Children played cricket, rode scooters and Mobylettes, built homemade stilts, and caught chickens with boxes and sticks.
  • They learned to dance at Miss Gladys Darrell’s house, collected tires for rub-a-ring, and spent long days swimming at Dock and Stool.
  • They slid down hills on formica tabletops and always looked out for one another.

Back then, leaders were present and engaged. Mr. Stanley Morton visited homes, spoke with families, and truly cared about the people of C21. Today, many in the community feel forgotten, only hearing from politicians when elections come around.

Kelzine believes it’s time to change that.

A Vision for Real Change

Kelzine is running because she cares. She hears the concerns of the people, understands their struggles, and is committed to delivering real solutions—not just political promises.

Her goal is simple: serve the people, not just a party. If that means bringing all parties together for the greater good, she will do whatever it takes.

Her Priorities for Constituency 21

Improve Infrastructure & Services
  • Work closely with Lt. Col. the Hon. David A. Burch to ensure roads are properly repaired.
  • Push for trash collection to return to twice per week to maintain cleaner neighborhoods.
Stronger Representation & Accountability
  • Hold regular town hall meetings so that residents always have a voice.
  • Maintain transparent communication, so people know where she stands on issues that affect them.
Support for Seniors & Single Parents
  • Advocate for better financial and social support systems.
  • Ensure that seniors and single parents never feel abandoned.
Youth Development & Job Opportunities
  • Push for programs that create real job opportunities for young Bermudians.
  • Provide training and mentorship to guide youth toward stable and successful futures—reducing the risk of them turning to the streets.
A Leader Who Will Fight for You

C21 deserves a representative who is committed to real change—not just empty promises. Kelzine Thompson is here to be the voice of the people, to stand with the community, and to fight for a better future for all.

With strong values, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to service, she is ready to restore hope, unity, and action in C21.
