A Vision for Hamilton Parish & Bermuda’s Future

Hamilton Parish is more than just where I live—it’s where my roots run deep. Raised on Coney Island, I have lived and breathed the essence of this community. Whether it was coaching cricket at Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club or playing football for the Hamilton Parish Hot Peppers, this parish is my family. I’ve spent countless days running up and down Cottage Hill, and I understand what Hamilton Parish needs because I am a part of it.

I am a Gibbons. I am an Outerbridge. My family comes from Limehouse Lane, and in Hamilton Parish, we know we’re all connected. Here, we treat each other like family, because this is home. As the saying goes, charity begins at home—and for me, that starts with serving the people of Hamilton Parish.

Honoring MP Derrick Burgess

Veteran MP Derrick Burgess has always embodied this sense of family. It’s why he affectionately calls everyone “Cousin.” That connection is at the heart of our community, and it’s why he has been a pillar of support—the ‘go-to man’ when things needed to get done. I call him “Uncle Derrick” because he represents the spirit of service we all admire.

But every leader must recognize when it’s time to pass the baton. This is not a criticism, but an acknowledgment of life’s natural transitions.

It’s Time for a New Chapter

Hamilton Parish is ready for a new generation of leadership—someone with fresh energy, the same passion, and a commitment to delivering results for our community. As your representative, I will work to strengthen and unify our parish.

When trees need cutting, I’ll call Keishon.
When trash needs clearing, I’ll call Jelani.
When elders need support, I’ll bring the Isaacs.
And when a house needs cleaning, I’ll call the twins.

Together, we’ll create a stronger, more unified Hamilton Parish.

Building a Stronger Bermuda as Part of the Next Government

I am running to be a part of Bermuda’s next government—a government that prioritizes the people and takes decisive action to improve our economy, strengthen education, and create real opportunities for Bermudians.

I stand by the Free Democratic Movement’s (FDM) vision for a better Bermuda. Under The Honorable Marc Bean’s leadership as Opposition Leader for the PLP, it was clear he was the most effective and impactful leader Bermuda has seen in decades. That same visionary leadership now drives the FDM, and I am ready to be a key part of the team that leads Bermuda forward.

The hands-on approach I’ve shown in Hamilton Parish is the same dedication I will bring to the national stage. As a member of the next government, I will ensure that our policies deliver real solutions, drive economic growth, and secure a better future for Bermudians.

Priorities for Governance

Education

  • Empower teachers and parents to collaborate on our children’s welfare.
  • Introduce a voucher system to give parents greater choice in their children’s education.
  • Partner with private companies to create internships and on-the-job training for high school students, preparing them for the workforce.

Economic Growth

  • Empower entrepreneurs, fishermen, and farmers, ensuring they have control over their industries.
  • Offer tax relief for the working class, increasing disposable income to stimulate the economy.
  • Pay down national debt using revenue from Corporate Income Tax (CIT).
  • Utilize unused government properties for revenue generation.

Housing Solutions

  • Renovate derelict buildings instead of focusing solely on new construction.
  • Expand residential zones, transforming some commercial spaces into mixed-use properties.
  • Implement long-term leases for government-owned properties.
  • Update tenant and landlord legislation, including rent control measures to protect residents.

Infrastructure & Sustainability

  • Develop eco-tourism initiatives at locations like Tom Moore’s Jungle, Spittal Pond, and Cooper’s Island to attract tourists and foreign investment.
  • Expand renewable energy options, such as installing solar panels on schools and government buildings, to cut costs and promote sustainability.
Strong Leadership for a Better Future

Bermuda deserves bold, intelligent, and community-focused leadership. I am not running to sit on the sidelines—I am running to lead, to govern, and to deliver results.

  •  A government that works for the people, not for political gain
  •  Real solutions for housing, education, and economic growth
  • A Bermuda where opportunity exists for everyone

The FDM is ready to lead Bermuda into the future, and I am ready to be a key part of that leadership.

Our policies are outlined in detail at [www.fdmbda.com], where your feedback is welcome. Let’s work together to create a brighter future for all Bermudians.
